Giving Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic members a voice
Members of BAME Labour have elected a new Executive Committee to lead the organisation for a two year term. The 17-strong team will take office in March and are already looking forward to getting started. The new executive draws on the experience of members from across the country – with representatives from Wales, London, the North East, the East Midlands and West Midlands.
Vice-Chair Elect, June Nelson, said ‘I am delighted to have been elected as part of such a strong team. We are all committed to working hard for the organisation and will ensure that we all play our part in building up BAME Labour and taking it from strength to strength. We will focus on making BAME Labour into a strong and credible organisation, and we will campaign hard on behalf of our members to ensure that our voice is heard at every level of the Labour Party. We are looking forward to working with members from all across the UK, and welcome any comments and suggestions about what our members want to see us deliver over the next two years’.
