Creative Alliance is looking for someone who passionately believes young people have a right to honest and high quality information and advice about learning, training and working in the creative industries. 

Their compass online platform has been developed and tested with support from Arts Connect. It's now ready to roll out to schools and colleges across the West Midlands. Your job will be to develop and deliver a package of workshops for young people and training for staff that introduces schools & colleges to Compass and encourages them to use the platform to have conversations with creative professionals. 

You'll be:

  • Delivering workshops in schools and colleges to educate young people about the jobs people do, the skills people need and the first steps people take into paid work in the sector.
  • Setting up Compass Conversations between young people and creative professionals. Compass is Creative Alliance's on-line platform that uses Google hangouts to create and then archive conversations. 
  • Providing training sessions for teachers and other professionals about careers in the creative and cultural industries. 

Hours: Full time position, 37.5 hours a week.

Salary £23,000

Post EU-Referencum, reports of racially motivated attacks and abuse have increased exponentially. An anti-EU campaign that relied heavily on anti-immigration rhetoric has allowed racist language and racism to become normalised. 

In a bid to fight against the rise of xenophobia, Campaign Bootcamp has launched an emergency scholarship for those who want to fight back against racism and/or xenophobia. The scholarships are for up to seven people to come to the last Campaign Bootcamp of 2016. The scholarship covers the full course fee (including accommodation and food).

Applications are now open for BBC Radio 3's pan industry conference, Diversity and Inclusion in Composition, which aims to facilitate greater inclusion in classical music composition of composers and prospective composers from the UK's black Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities.

The one-day event will take place on Wednesday 19 October at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and is hosted in partnership with BASCA, the BBC Philharmonic and the Royal Northern College of Music, and in association with the BBC Black and Asian Forum.
