About Us

DORA

BAME Labour seeks to empower ethnic minority members within the Labour Party and campaigns for greater representation of ethnic minority communities in public life. Through encouraging increased participation in the political process the BAME Labour empowers its members to campaign for a fairer, more equal and democratic society.

We were elected nationallly in March 2007 and members are based all over the UK. Every main ethnic group is represented on the Executive. We meet quarterly and aim to meet all over the UK. We have a seat on the NEC which is taken by Keith Vaz MP.

I want to see BAME Labour become an energetic force and a key player in the Labour movement, working to increase Labours diversity both in terms of gender and race. Please contact me at bamelabour@new.labour.org.uk if you have any ideas how we can move the agenda forward or wish to join the group or the Labour Party. Thank you.
